I've been meaning to make a cupcake wrapper and topper and the Superbowl was a good excuse to make one. My husband had gotten these mini cupcakes from Safeway and I thought it would be really cute to make a wrapper for it. I made the wrapper in a regular cupcake size then made a guestimate and resized it for these minis. Surprisingly, I got the sizing right on the first try, isn't it sooo cute?! For the cupcake wrapper template, I have both a regular and mini wrapper size. You can hide one or the other by clicking on the eye of the layer you don't want to print, see below image for reference.
If you want to cut several of these at a time, you can click on the wrapper, hit ctrl 'c' to copy, then ctrl 'v' to paste as many wrappers you want to print.
I also have included a link to the design for the cupcake topper below. I made 2 toppers, one is the 'Go Team' one you see in the image above and I also have a football one. You can put these toppers on any food you have like sliders, sandwiches, or any finger foods. You might have noticed that these designs match my popcorn holder Superbowl design. I've linked that in the 'Other Designs You Might Like' section below in case you want to make that too. Here is a photo of the football topper:
The cupcake wrapper and topper doesn't require any scoring. A 2nd card stock is needed for the backing part for the football. I used tape to quickly put the wrapper together since the white backing needed to be firmly attached to the wrapper so it doesn't distort when band was bent. I used Elmer's glue for the toppers.
The design can be easily resized. If you have extra large cupcakes, you could easy resize to fit them. You just need to click on the design and then drag using the bottom right double sided arrow.
- 2 Light card stock.
- Tape and glue

- Use textured light card stock for the look in my photo.
- It's easier to glue on the square backing for the football cutout first before you start bending the wrapper.
- Quality of paper makes a big difference! If the inside of your card stock tears at the folds then it's not as high quality paper. I like the type paper that is textured, it gives it an elegant look.
I also have this football design on my popcorn holder. It would be a good addition to your Superbowl party! Click on the image to go to the project page.
