Whenever I look for a gift for someone who has everything, my go to plan is a gift card because it's hard to go wrong with that. I personalize it by choosing a gift card for a place they go to a lot. To make it extra special, I came up with this match box design with arrow details. It fits a gift card perfectly but can be used to hold other small trinkets like rings, necklaces, or bracelets. I usually give this for pretty much every holiday you can think of so I have made them with different design details. For example, I just made one with heart cutouts for Valentine's Day. I give these to teachers a lot and spa places before the pandemic were a big hit! If you go to my site menu and click on 'Cricut Designs' and then boxes, you'll see all the different match box designs I have. During the holidays, I also gift cards in a special hanging design that you can find under 'gift card holders' in the menu.
For the design, I added a little gift tag for the to and from and a little gold elastic cord string to finish it off. As usual, I tried to keep it simple so you can assemble this in little time - it requires just 2 card stocks. The outer box is a light paper stock and the insert part is a heavier poster card. I usually have these on hand and grab one whenever I need one but it's also easy and quick to make in a bind. - Glue the backing to the arrows before gluing the box together.
- If you're using textured or printed cardstock, place it face down on the mat. That way, the scoring will be done on the inside of your box.
- Use hot glue for fast drying time.
